Man claims he and wife were wrestling after police arrive for hangup call

39-year-old Joseph Knuff was charged with domestic assault after a hangup call to 911 sent officers to a residence on Highland Court where officers observed a broken cell phone, scratches, and swelling to his wife’s forehead, per report.

On November 10th, Lebanon Police Officer Martin responded to a domestic assault in progress at a residence located at 419 Highland Court. According to the affidavit, Joseph Knuff stated that he and Angela Knuff had gotten into an argument and they were wrestling. Angela stated that she was texting while sitting on the bed and Joseph took her phone and started an argument. When she tried to get her phone back, he broke it and then began hitting her.

Angela advised that she called law enforcement from her son’s cell phone and Joseph disconnected the call. Officer Martin stated that he saw scratches to Angela’s arms and swelling to her forehead.

Joseph Knuff was arrested and charged with domestic assault and interference with an emergency call. Knuff is currently in jail in lieu of a $1,500 bond.
