Man reported to be lying in the street; charged with public intox

59-year-old Joseph Hurtuk was charged with public intoxication after he was reported to be laying in the middle of West Spring Street in Lebanon.

On October 25th, Lebanon Police Officer Thompson responded to a call in reference to a man lying in the middle of the area of West Spring Street. Officer Thompson spoke with Joseph Hurtuk who was using the assistance of a rolling walker. The officer’s report stated that Hurtuk had a strong odor associated with alcoholic beverages and red, watery eyes.

Hurtuk had been counseled earlier in the day for making numerous 911 calls. Officer Thompson placed Hurtuk into custody for his safety and the welfare of the public.

Joseph Hurtuk was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was later released on his own recognizance.
