Driver tries to evade police, found with marijuana and wrong tags

35-year-old Shawn Pritchard was charged with evading arrest, driving on a suspended license, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia after police observed him driving with a different car’s tag, where he then tried to escape and was found with syringes and a bag of weed in his vehicle.

On December 1st, Lebanon Police Officer Winfree reported a vehicle driving with a registration tag belonging to another car. When the vehicle turned into an apartment complex, the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver, Shawn Pritchard, shut off the lights and tried to escape.

After Officer Winfree caught him, a search in the system showed that Pritchard’s license was suspended out of Smyrna city court and his driving record consisted of multiples offenses for driving with a revoked license. After he was taken into custody, a search of the vehicle revealed two syringes containing methamphetamine, a pipe, a grinder, and a small bag of marijuana.

Shawn Pritchard was arrested and charged with evading arrest, driving on a suspended license, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $3,000 bond.
