Man admits to “laying hands” on roommate while trying to evict her

59-year-old David Godkin was charged with domestic assault after he admitted to punching his roommate as he asked her to sign an eviction notice he wrote for her.

On November 27th, Lebanon Police Officer Johns arrived at the residence of David Godkin, located at 919 West Spring Street, in response to a domestic call. Upon arrival, Michelle Leader advised her friend, David Godkin, had been drinking that day. She informed the police she moved in with him six weeks ago and he wrote up an eviction notice for her to leave the residence.

Leader stated Godkin asked her to sign the paper and take a picture while she signed it. He then punched her on the left side of her body and when Officer Johns spoke to him, he admitted to laying his hands on her.

David Godkin was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
