Man found near Plaza 231 Inn says he took heroin and Xanax charged with public intoxication

19-year-old Joseph Adair was charged with public intoxication after he was found acting erratic, jumping up and down, waving his hands near the roadway next to the Plaza 231 Inn.

On February 4th, police responded to North Cumberland Street in reference to a disorderly male suspect, later identified as Joseph Adair. Officers witnessed Joseph jumping up and down near the roadway, waving his hands. As officers pulled up, Joseph started running. When police found him he was acting erratic and could not be still. Joseph told police that he had taken heroin and Xanax. He was then taken into custody for his own safety due to his level of intoxication. He was arrested and charged with public intoxication and was later released on his own recognizance.
