58-year-old Eddie Whitaker was charged with theft of merchandise when he was caught on video scanning $8.19 worth of items at the self-checkout at Walmart in Mt. Juliet and actually walked out with over $250 worth that was not scanned.
On June 29th, Officer Neal was called to Walmart located at 300 Pleasant Grove Road in Mt. Juliet. Patrick with Loss Prevention caught Eddie Whitaker on surveillance video stealing over $250 worth of merchandise.
The security footage showed Whitaker pushing a cart full of items to the self-checkout area. However, he only scanned $8.19 worth of items leaving $256.17 worth unpaid when he passed all points of sale.
On September 12th, Eddie Whitaker was arrested and charged with theft of merchandise. His bond was set at $500.
