Gallatin woman admits to having Xanax after attempting to steal from Walmart

21-year-old Alisha Ovalle was charged with possession of Xanax, gabapentin, and theft after she stole from Walmart and admitted to having drugs in her purse.

On October 16th, Lebanon Police Officer Byrnes responded to a theft call at Walmart on 615 South Cumberland Street. Upon arrival, Officer Byrnes made contact with an asset protection associate, Amanda Sims, who reported that Alisha Ovalle was shoplifting. Sims advised that Ovalle put merchandise inside her clothes and passed all the registers, indicating she was not going to pay for the items.

Ovalle stated she had illegal items in her coin purse and Officer Byrnes initiated a search. He discovered a crushed Xanax pill and five gabapentin pills, which were all not prescribed to Ovalle.

Alisha Ovalle was arrested and charged with possession of Xanax, gabapentin, and theft. She was later released on a $2,000 bond.
