Woman charged after stealing from Walmart for her 10th time

47-year-old Wendy Brady was charged with three counts of theft of merchandise and three counts of criminal trespassing after she switched the tags on items at Walmart in order to pay much less than the valued price.

On November 30th, Walmart Loss Prevention Associate Amanda Sims witnessed video surveillance of Wendy Brady switching price tags on items at Walmart, located at 615 South Cumberland Street. It was stated that Wendy only paid $23.73 for $338.00 worth of merchandise. On December 3rd, Brady was caught on video at the same Walmart switching price tags again and only paying $20.54 for $307.33 worth of items. It was reported she was banned from all Walmarts due to seven previous theft reports.

On December 6th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Martin responded to a shoplifting call at the Walmart on 300 Pleasant Grove Road. Loss Prevention Associate Yuki Loomis advised that after Brady swapped the price tags and paid for the merchandise, they attempted to stop her, but she dropped the items and ran.

Upon arrival, the police located and detained Brady in a restaurant across the Walmart parking lot. According to the affidavit, she was banned from Walmart properties at the Mt. Juliet store in August of 2020 and again at the Murfreesboro Walmart in October of 2020.

Wendy Brady was arrested and charged with three counts of theft of merchandise and three counts of criminal trespassing. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $5,500 bond.
